-The story is about two man ; one is from North Korea and another one is from South Korea. When they were children, they were both friends each other and living in a unified country but after civil war, they are enemies. The North Korean man was captured in South Korean by his old friend who is now his enemy and is escorting him to be shot. As they walk , there is a anger between them, but the sight of some cranes brings back some happy memories of when they were children , it is this moment when they forget about the present problem and return to the past.

-The story is written in second person and flash backs are used to discribe the differences and changes in a relationship.

-The main confict is moral and emotional where are character leaves his home for better life. The other conflict is where two friends of the past meets as enemies and one of them has to kill the other. The a differents between good and evil is a very suttle because the differents between good and evil here is a matter of opinion and political ideology. The conflict do get resolves by abondoning thought and leaving decisions to instinct.

7. What is the climax of the story and at what point in the story does the climax occur? Is the ending of the story happy, unhappy, or indeterminate? Is it fairly achieved?

-The climax in the story happens when two cranes are seen flying up to the air. This happens a the point in the story when the relationship between the two man changes and without words, the cranes are symbolic of their escape back to freedom.

8. Does the plot have unity? Are all the episodes relevant to the total meaning or effect of the story? Does each incident grow logically out of the preceding incident and lead naturally to the next?
-The plot does have unity regarding time period but the flashback breaks its unity whenever its occurs.

9. What use does the story make of chance and coincidence? Are these occurrences used to initiate, to complicate, or to resolve the story? How improbable are they?

The coincidence of the story is when the two man meets again as the enemy. They are not improbable, this is because  one man was a escaping into the south and the other man was garding the boarder which might happen even now.
